Meet The Team

Dakotah Asher, PA-C

Founder & Medical Provider

Hello Everyone!

So nice to meet you! My name is Dakotah Asher, I am the founder and medical provider at Integrity Medical. I received my Bachelors degree in Health Science with a Concentration in Radiology from South College of Knoxville in 2009 and went on to complete my Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from South College of Knoxville in 2017. Once I became a board certified Physician Assistant I went on to practice in my favorite field of medicine, Primary Care.

I began working in the traditional, insurance based, primary care clinic when I quickly realized that the quality of care I was able to provide my patients was extremely limited due to insurance regulations and time constraints. I found that the large majority, if not all, of my patients needed longer than 8-15 minute visits and had more than 2 topics to discuss. Patients had questions and were uneducated about their disease states and why they were taking certain medications. Due to time constraints, created by insurance companies, I was often left asking patients to return for a second appointment because we were not able to cover everything in 15 minutes. I wanted to answer their questions, calm concerns, be a shoulder to lean on, coach them on how to tackle anxiety and stress, etc.

Many patients relied on others for transportation or could barely afford their co-pay for one visit that month, let alone two. It was not easy or feasible for them to return for a second appointment. This resulted in patients feeling frustrated, unheard and unimportant. This left me, as their provider, feeling frustrated and disappointed. I would often leave my job saying to myself “this is not the way primary care should be!!” I also found it disappointing when I would lose a patient because they lost their insurance and could not afford the cost of self-pay pricing at these facilities, $150+ per visit. Caring for people is my passion and I knew there was a way to make an impactful difference. I wanted a better way to provide quality, exceptional, personalized care at an affordable price and that’s when Integrity Medical was born.

Choosing to structure Integrity Medical by the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model and not accept insurance means I am FINALLY able to provide care by my standards, not the insurance companies. Patients say they are happier and feel better taken care of this way.

Having a primary care provider that you trust is priceless. A primary care provider is someone that you build a relationship with for years to come, we sometimes know you better than the people closest to you. You may not be a frequent flyer in a medical office or maybe your only seen twice a year for a check up, but trust me, establishing with a primary care provider is vital to your overall health. Not only is establishing with a primary care provider so important but choosing to establish with a DPC provider is one of the best things you could ever do for your health.

If you are looking into changing primary care providers, looking to establish with one for the first time, don’t have health insurance or are new to the DPC model, I would love to meet you and show you what we have to offer at Integrity Medical!
